My name is Francesco and I have been a professional truffle hunter for more than 10 years. I am also a breeder of the Lagotto Romagnolo dog breed, an unsurpassed and irreplaceable companion for every truffle hunter.
This is an authentic private truffle hunt! You will not look for truffles in a truffle ground but it will be a real truffle hunting experience in the woods. Precisely because it is a real experience, there is no certainty of how many truffles we will be able to find, it could be 5 kg of white truffle or even none (don’t worry, it happens very rarely). And this is precisely one of the most important reasons that makes this experience so exciting.
I will take you to the woods where I myself usually go looking for truffles in the company of my Lagotto Romagnolo dogs. During the truffle hunt I will explain to you how truffles are born, grow and how to find them and I will answer all your curiosities both about the Lagotto Romagnolo dog and about truffles.
There will be 2.5 hours of real truffle hunting in the woods, a truly unique experience: instructive, exciting and fun.

Don’t look any further. This is a professional truffle hunter, who hunts truffles for a living. He will take you with him and explain you some important aspects of the truffles. He has many dogs going after the truffles and goes to the forrest. It was amazing and topped nearly all other experiences we had in Tuscany. Don’t miss it!

We met with Francesco, his wife and two amazing Lagottos. After quick introduction within few minutes we were in forrest looking for truffles. The expeeience was superb! The hosts are lovely, warm people who were very easy to talk to and obviously love what they do. They are passionate about lagotto breed. Francesco and his wife shared with us lot of information about their dogs and breed as we are interested in getting lagotto. With him and his wife it felt as if we are long time friends, talk about dogs, truffles, Tuscany, lots of laughs and pleasant walk in the woods. Needles to say, we found truffles which we got to take with us and have them prepared by our hotel for a delicious truffle inspired dinner. But watching dogs work and owners interact with the dogs was what really was a piece of art to adore. Francesco is “lagotto whisperer”. Wonderful experience. Francesco and his wife took us out for black truffle hunting with their sweet and hard working dogs. Although not in high season, we did find a good portion of truffels. Francesco explained it all very well and we learned a lot. Highly recommended, a hard working and honest family, lots of respect to keep this tradition going. We managed to find Francesco last minute as we really loved to do some truffle hunting but couldn’t find something we wanted when in Alba. A few hours later we were running through the forest chasing his dogs and an even so excited Francesco! What an experience, Francesco is such a funny and crazy dude, and his daughter was absolutely lovely and great at translating a lot for us.
