Description
A wonderful circuit with several views over the towers of San Gimignano and the multi-coloured
landscape of the countryside, the treasure of this land. The route goes through olive groves, wheat
fields, sunflowers and vineyards of the famous Vernaccia, a refined white wine, one of the best
Tuscan wines.
Rosemary and lavender’s hedges enhance the beauty of this fascinating walk, together with the
typical vegetation of the Mediterranean scrub. Strolling around this environment gives an overall
view of the historical/natural background in which San Gimignano was born.
We’ll discover its secrets by stories of the past and the present days. It is possible to enrich the experience with a tasting/light lunch by a local farm (Azienda Agricola Guardastelle), to discover the flavours of Vernaccia wine and the various local products.
The routes are selected on the basis of the beauty of the scenery, with suggestive views of San Gimignano and the surrounding countryside. During the excursions the nature guide illustrates the various naturalistic, historical and cultural aspects of the territory.
