Description
Wine & Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tour in Tuscany
Discover two of Tuscany’s greatest treasures in one immersive experience: fine wine and high-quality extra virgin olive oil.
This private tour takes you deep into the Tuscan countryside, where olive groves and vineyards shape the landscape and local traditions are still very much alive.
You’ll visit a family-run organic or biodynamic winery, enjoying a guided walk through the vineyards and cellar, followed by a wine tasting that highlights the character of the territory.
The experience continues at an olive oil farm and mill, where you’ll learn how premium extra virgin olive oil is produced and enjoy a homemade lunch focused on EVO oil, paired with local dishes that showcase its flavors.
When available, lunch is held at the olive farm; alternatively, the olive oil tasting will take place at the mill, followed by lunch and EVO oil pairing at the winery.
Along the way, you’ll also enjoy a stroll through a charming medieval village, adding a cultural touch to the day.
This tour is designed for travelers who want to understand the craftsmanship, traditions, and taste behind Tuscany’s most iconic products, without rushing and far from mass tourism.

Eight of us – family and friends – went on the EVO Olive Oil and Wine Tasting tour. It was a wonderful day in the Tuscan countryside. We were able to view and understand the processing of olives into olive oil – and – had a chance to taste freshly pressed olive oil. A visit to a small winery that included tastings of the various wines made at the winery during a delicious lunch. The day ended with a walk through a small Tuscan hill town. Our guide was knowledgeable and shared much information about the places we visited, Italian life and history. We will definitely choose one of the other tours offered when we all visit Tuscany during the coming years.

We booked a private olive oil tour. Our guide, Fabrizio, was informative and had a great sense of humor. He picked us up at our hotel in Florence and off we went.
We visited Olio Maggi, where our convivial host, Giovanni, could not have been more willing to answer all our questions. We also met his charming father, Carlo, the patriarch, and carver of a delightful wooden Pinocchio marionette theater there. Obviously a labor of love.
The oils were wonderful. As was the lunch they served. We ordered 8 cans, each a different variety, to be sent to us back home. And though it would be gracious to gift some to favorite people, we’re keeping them all for ourselves! (Of course, our dinner party guests will be beneficiaries.)
All in all, a wonderful trip to Tuscany.
