Taking inspiration from the Greek root of the word landscape, meaning to look, this morning session invites you to explore the art of seeing through quick drawing and painting techniques. Whether capturing the contours of the land before you or imagining a place from within, this practice becomes a personal dialogue between the observer and the observed, transcending time and space.
This experience is designed to welcome both beginners and experienced painters, offering a series of reflections and practical techniques accessible to all. The aim is for each participant to gain something meaningful that extends well beyond the morning spent together, providing inspiration and tools for future artistic exploration.
By the end of the session, each participant will have their own unique works on paper to take home and develop further.
About the Artist
The session will be guided by Josephine Frampton, an English painter living near Tavarnelle, Tuscany. Born and raised in London, she first studied botanical illustration at Kew before moving to Florence, where she explored the fresco technique—painting with powdered pigments on plaster, cement, and later on canvas. For Josephine, painting is above all an alternative to words. Her deep passion for landscape, both real and imagined, will immerse you in a unique artistic experience, introducing practical techniques to inspire your own creative exploration.
